About the Course
Why do so many people seem to have hip/pelvic dysfunction? Do they have to live with the pain, or is there something we manual therapists can do to help? The floor of the mouth mirrors the respiratory diaphragm and pelvic diaphragm, therefore ribcage and pelvic bone treatment has a significant positive impact on disorders of the TMJ, Cervical & Cranial region, impacting head, neck and shoulder pain via the deep front fascial line and vice versa. Direct Myofascial release/MFR to the Sacrotuberous & sacrospinous ligaments and lateral rotators of the hip, especially the obturator internus and other muscles attached to the ischial bone, is very effective for decreasing pelvic floor & hip dystonia. Direct work to iliacus and the inguinal ligament, as well as the musculature attaching to the bones of the pelvis, relieves trigger points associated with disorders in this region, by resetting the pelvic postural and fascial biomechanics. Treatment of the muscles that attach to the same tendinous fascial arch and share the same fascial sheaths as the obturator internus, has a dramatic impact on pain in this region. Indirect acetabulofemoral joint and hip musculature release using PNF stretching, are also great adjuncts to the above treatment modalities. Finally, osseous and periosteal work to the sacrum & coccyx, help to "bow" the muscles attached to them, taking strain off the muscle spindles, and will act to decrease nociceptor firing, therefore improving the pain response.
About Taylor Fascial
Taylor Fascial was created by Carrie Taylor BSc., RMT, LMT, CPT, CYT, YACEP in 2001 to combine Myofascial release, trigger point therapy, stretching and osseous work into a highly effective treatment strategy. This style of treatment balances the patient’s nervous system and frees them of pain and stress as well as realigning the entire body and its systems.

What People Are Saying

I also want to say thank you for sharing these techniques with me. I feel like this is my nitch. I have gotten more out of your classes, then any other class, including school. You are my mentor!!
I was going to text you to let you know how all of us feel that this trip was a wonderful gift. We learned so much in such a great environment. It was nice for us to be away from the demands of our daily lives and really focus on what we were learning. It was a wonderful retreat, and we are deeply grateful to you for all of your work. When I get home, I will start looking at airbnb and VRBO for the next trip.
I was six months in practice and already feeling bored with my work when I stumbled on Carrie Taylor. Her courses and her way of looking at the body transformed my practice. I am now doing the work I love and am eager to get to my office each day. I use the DVDs as a resource almost weekly, and learn something new each time I review them. Caution: these courses are not for the therapist looking to pick up a few CEUs--Carrie Taylor's Technique will shake up your practice and blow your mind. And your clients will be as grateful as you are that you took classes in the Taylor Technique. Thank you! I don't think I would still be practicing if it weren't for you. This was just what I was looking for.
